Rain.

The ice in front of my house is finally melting. For weeks now, my drive-way has been an ice rink. Mother nature has finally seen fit to melt my little disaster zone. It has been so slippery, the dogs can't even walk out there.

The new snow plow is mounted and ready to go....no snow. I'm not complaining.

We will going to Southern California next month to speak at a Medical Unit Leader class.

We will be doing just about nothing else in the month of February. FL04 is up and running. Sammy has healed, and is ready to go.

Congrats to Ashley.....she is a full fledged Nurse now.

No more new news this morning.

Good morning.

Now that the holidays are behind us......what do we do? Here, we catch up on all the chores that need to be done. We repair trailers. We clean trailers. We restock trailers. Out with the old drugs....in with the new. We watch the weather. We try to predict what type of fire season we will have next year. Next year?? Fire season is right around the corner. It will creep up on us faster than you think. Usually we are assigned to our first incident in June. Last year we were assigned to our first incident in May. We are usually finished by Thanksgiving. In 2008 we didn't finish until December 28th. This winter we will prepare for more FEMA assignments. This spring we will attend workshops to train for the upcoming fire season.

FL 07 is back home. The drive home was fast and uneventful. The day we picked up the trailer, we drove to Amarillo. We woke up to 30 degrees. I thought Texas was supposed to be warm. We made it from Amarillo Texas to Beatty Nevada in one day. It was cold in the Nevada Desert too. The wind was blowing very hard. The closer we got to Reno, the harder the wind blew. But we were able to navigate the gusts and pulled into the yard at 3:30 pm. Acrossed four states in two days.

We would like to thank everybody who had a part in the Galveston project. Brookstone, Exceptional Fire Services, Ryan's Water Services, Teen Challenge, The Caterers, Response Force 1, ..... I know there was a lot more... I just can't remember right now.
