UPDATE ON Salmon River Hotshot Injuries
A member of the Salmon River hotshots was injured in a non-fire line incident on the Silver Fire, PNF, in Quincy. She was struck by piece of heavy equipment, while sleeping in fire camp. Her injuries include fractures to T2, T3, T4, T5, T6 spinous processes, left 5th and 7th ribs, right 10th rib and left scapula. Her most serious injury that is going to require her to remain on a ventilator for several days is a left pneumothorax and lung contusions. She received treatment at the scene by Frontline Medical Personnel and Plumas District Hospital, and was later transferred to Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA. You can send her emails via Enloe Medical Center website. The staff will print them and deliver them to her. She continues to communicate with family. She is still in very serious condition.
