Yesterday, in the early morning hours, Mountain Lifeflight crashed just north of Highway 70 near Highway 395, in Lassen County.
The crew had just transported a patient to Renown Medical Center in Reno and were returning to Susanville.
A witness stated the helicopter appeared to be flying normally, then suddenly fell from the sky. The helicopter erupted into a ball of fire when it struck the ground. There were no survivors.
NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
