Winter is here. The weather dudes say we are supposed to get snow Sunday night....all through next week. I hope the weather dudes are wrong.

Local News

We light our community Christmas Tree tonight.

There will be Hot Cider, Hot Cocoa, Hot Egg Nog, Hot Coffee, Hot Pastries, .... Hot everything.... but the weather. The air will be very cold. Last night at "tree lighting" time, the temperature was a balmy 27 degrees.

At our annual Christmas Kick-off festivities, you can do a little shopping at our local shops. You could go for a hay around the outskirts of the town (it's not a very long ride). You could stand around the park and wait for the Official Countdown....and see the light switch thrown.....then see the lights on the tree.... well... they ... light up! It's kind of cool! I know some of you wonder if we have electricity here in Graeagle. Well.... yes we do.

Now, if you are really enjoying the festivities, too bad. You won't be able to share photos with anyone, as we still do not have high speed internet. Electricity vs. Internet..... Electricity won! So we have a town Christmas Tree.

I don't think I'll brave the weather. I've seen the tree light up. I think I will sit by a warm fire here at home. I might have a warm egg nog. Maybe I'll get real daring and put some Brandy in my warm egg nog.
