Eleven days ago, an Off-Shore Oil Platform caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico, near the Louisiana coast. The fire destroyed the platform....and it sank. The oil company has been unable to shut off the well head, which over a mile deep. Now there is an enormous amount of crude oil bleeding into the Gulf. The oil slick has reached the Louisiana coast. The winds are blowing out of the south-east, pushing the oil inland. Thousands of personnel has been deployed to clean-up the mess. The National Guard has been activated. The Gulf States have declared a State of Emergency. No request for a "Federal Disaster Declaration" has been made....yet. Obama is going to the Gulf today. A declaration may soon follow.
