President Obama is visiting the Gulf Coast today and tomorrow. He will address the Nation tomorrow night.

The Federal Government is requesting BP to establish an "escrow" account to support the clean-up efforts. They want 20 billion dollars in the account.... to start with. They want the account to be managed by an outside third party. They also are requesting the application process for claims be streamlined.

We are waiting on the word for several support camps. We thought we might get a verbal commitment last friday, but the wheels are still turning very slow. Hopefully we will get confirmation on something by close of business today.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 1425 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST
OF THE WINDWARD ISLANDS CONTINUES TO SHOW SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN CONDUCIVE FOR
DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS THE SYSTEM MOVES
WEST-NORTHWESTWARD TO NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH. THERE
REMAINS A HIGH CHANCE...60 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

ps. Toaka says..... "Oh boy! Things are startin' to happen! In all this excitement, maybe I'll get a snack!"
