Hurricanes are forming. Earl is threatening the US Virgin Islands. The storm behind Earl... which would be "Fiona".... is predicted to get big.

Fire Season 
A cold front has lowered the temps in California, so fire behavior will be reduced for a few more days.

Tropical Depression 6 should be a major hurricane by wednesday. Computer models show it turning more Northerly by the end of next week.

Fire Season 
Caribou Complex - Plumas is working IA on 4 new starts in the Feather River Cyn. Woodys, Hot, Rock and Caribou. IA sounds positive once the sun drops below the ridge. One report is one start has potential to go large. Request to put Type 2 Team on alert. Air tankers working fire. CalFire responding from Butte County. It is always windy in the canyon during the afternoon, so heads up.

Just before dark, the trout are hitting a black fly looking little thingy, with wings. They also hit a small grasshopper. I think almost any bug floating on the surface would work.

We're keeping an eye on a storm in the Gulf. It is moving from the Keys towards Galveston. The Weather Dudes say it could turn into a cyclone sometime in the next couple of days.

Fire Season 
The lightning that pummeled Northeastern California last week-end produced very little in the way of fires. Everything that started was picked up quick by fire crews.

Things have picked up a little. The fires that do start, have not been getting very big yet.
