The Weather Dude says it going to be sunny today..... he is right!! Not a cloud in the sky. The sun reflecting off of the snow is bright. The morning air is crisp. You can almost imagine spring... right around the corner. NOT! The Weather Dude says it is supposed to rain tomorrow.
The horses are tired of the cold. They stand at the gate... ready to leave. All they need is for someone to open that gate and they would start their journey... to someplace warm... where the green grass grows all year long.

The wheels of progress turn slow. FEMA is involved, but not in charge. Updates will be posted as they come in.
In the meantime......
Mother nature is visiting the Sierras.... and she didn't bring anything nice with her visit. RAIN!! A little snow fell yesterday, followed by RAIN! Rain on top of snow. More snow on top of rain....followed by more rain.
I just looked at Doppler Radar..... A very big storm is headed straight for us. The winds are blowing right now, so the storm cell is not far behind.
It seems pretty warm out today, so we might get nothing but rain today. Hopefully it will melt the snow.... I'm tired of looking at white.
Southern California was seeing some pretty bad mud slides yesterday. The big rain is supposed to hit SoCal tomorrow.

EARTHQUAKE
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - A powerful earthquake hit the impoverished country of Haiti on Tuesday, collapsing the presidential palace and numerous other critical government buildings and raising fears of substantial casualties in what a witness called “a major, major disaster.”
The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0 and was centered about 10 miles west of the capital, Port-au-Prince, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was followed by at least eight powerful aftershocks of magnitude 5.0 or greater, the USGS reported.

The Weather Dude says it is supposed to start raining tonight.....around 6pm. Well guess what? The Weather Dude was wrong again. It's raining right now. It has been for several hours. Another Weather Dude said we might get up to a foot of snow. We'll see.
Indie update
She has the routine down. She knows when the food is being put in the bowl. She knows when the snacks are being handed out. She knows when to roll over, so she can have her tummy scratched. She knows when to wake up in the morning... 'cuz food is coming. She has settled right in.

Indie is doing quite well. She loves her new home. At first, Toaka was a little bossy with her, but has settled down. Indie loves to walk with the gang, but she is very out of shape. It shouldn't take long to get her in shape. She obviously spent a lot of time in a kennel or garage, with little activity.
The weather dude said it rained here all day.....not a drop actually fell. He says it will rain again tomorrow.
Johnny Depp won "Actor of the Decade".... on The Peoples Choice Awards.
David Hasselhoff, who's been a judge on NBC's summer series for all four of its seasons, says he's moving on to do a TV project of his own.
Overall, recent studies suggest that coffee may offer a variety of health benefits against diseases such as cancer and diabetes. I guess I get to keep drinking coffee.

Yesterday we "rescued" a Labrador. Her name is Indie. She was living in the Bay Area with a family who didn't seem to have the heart, skills, or time to care for her. They told us she has severe skin allergy issues. She arrived in a big E-collar. She smelled like she had seen a lot of hours in a kennel or garage.
After we picked her up, we headed for home. We promptly removed the E-collar. She tried a few times to chew her feet, but stopped when we asked her to stop. So far she has been no problem.
This morning, she is collar free and very happy. She has been accepted by the gang and seems to fit in quite nicely. She still needs to adapt to our routine, which shouldn't take long.
Indie is very sweet and loving. She sits, stays, lays down... She minds very well. She loves to have her belly rubbed. She loves the attention she has received. She showed no signs of anxiety after being removed from her "home".
This morning, Indie found Brogue to be a very fun "toy". They both ran circles, chasing each other around the trees, up and over the deck, across the lawn....Woo Hoo!!
