Fire Season Update

I was reminded yesterday of the procedure for predicting fire season. It's pretty much what my funny little Genie told me. I was told to wait until October...Then we will know exactly how busy fire has been.  I was also told..."It's going to be the busiest season ever!!"

You Might be a Paramedic if....
...you disbelieve 90% of what you are told and 75% of what you see.

ps. Toaka says....... "...you might be full of crap.....just break out the Fire Genie Snacks!"

Fire Season Update

The snow is finally melting. The temps in the Valley are supposed to reach 80 by the end of the week. That means it will be at least 60 here...The Weather Dude says...maybe even 70 !!

People have been asking me What fire season will be like this year. I just rub my Magic Genie Lamp and wait for the Genie to come drifting out into the air. When he finishes rubbing his eyes and scratchin' his A#%, he tells me he will know exactly what kind of fire season we will have....when the warm October breezes blow in from the East. He tells me the leaves will turn yellow and orange. He tells me I will hear Sandhill Cranes and Geese flying over head. He tells me that turkeys will soon be on sale at the market. He tells me to be patient.

He isn't a very good source for predictive information.

I had hoped for some kind of guidance. I had hoped for a Genie with some actual powers. No such luck. I'm stuck with a comedian.

**TSUNAMI  UPDATE**

IWAKI, Japan — Japanese authorities confirmed Saturday that radiation had leaked from a quake-hit nuclear plant after an explosion destroyed a building at the site.

The blast at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear facility occurred just hours after officials said they feared the reactor could melt down. The area was later also hit by a 6.4-magnitude aftershock.

The damage in the U.S. has been minimal. Most likely, there will be no FEMA deployments here in the U.S.  It is still unsure if FEMA will assist with the efforts in Japan.

This is still an evolving event. More aftershocks are yet to come. More tsunamis are possible.
