FIRE SEASON IS HERE. With a vengance!!
It's been a while since I posted on here. Fire season has kicked into high gear. Very dangerous fire behavior this year. We are assigned to three different incidents at this time. The two fires in the Lassen Plumas area have shown very impressive columns. I'm thinking Mother Nature will actually be the one who puts those fires to bed. Suppression efforts seem to be in vain, at this time.
The fires on the Klamath are not very big, acreage wise. But, they are located in some of the most extreme fire fighting terrain found in California/Oregon. Mother Nature will probably have a lot to do with when these are put to bed as well. You should see the acreage increase significantly very soon.
One fatality in Idaho. A 20 year female firefighter was hit by a falling tree. Our prayers go out to her, her peers, her family.....
Please be careful out there.
